OutsiderDiversityInjection#80fe
Seed a search with people experienced in unrelated fields plus a few domain experts
Mechanism
Novelty in a problem comes from cross-domain analogy. A group composed of many experts from other fields (a musician, a doctor, a firefighter) plus a handful of domain experts generates interventions that a pure domain group or an inexperienced crowd cannot, because the outsiders bring transferable experience.
Invariants
- Outsiders bring deep experience elsewhere, not inexperience
- A small domain-expert core anchors the search
Failure modes
- Outsiders without any domain anchor
- Anchors dominate and suppress outsider ideas
Identity
The name is the hash of the definition. Change a word and it becomes a different pattern.
