ReversibleComposability#4aa2
Parts join through interfaces whose effects and side-effects are fully undoable
Mechanism
A component added to a system declares an interface with rules that specify both its direct effects and its co-effects on neighbors. Because every effect is defined through the interface, removal can restore the prior state exactly, and the system has no hidden intermediate state. Category-theoretic composition, where each morphism has a defined inverse or identity, formalizes this.
Invariants
- Every addition has a defined inverse
- No effect is left in latent state outside the interface
Failure modes
- Interfaces that hide side-effects in unspecified state
- Requirement of invertibility that excludes useful one-way operations

Identity
The name is the hash of the definition. Change a word and it becomes a different pattern.
