"mechanism": "List candidate stressors as rows and the components of a design as columns. Mark a cell when the stressor would force a change to the naive version of that component. Row totals count how many components each stressor touches; column totals count how many stressors bear on each component. Components that share stressors are refactored to sit together and share the structure that survives them. In the fractional form, following {{fractional_meta_model}}, each cell records k of n parts already built, and two extra columns give the work still needed to complete the full function if the stressor arrives and the work needed to remove it if it never will. Barry O'Reilly introduced the binary form for residuality analysis; Timlett proposes the fractional extension.",
